Three layers with different lifespans. Understanding this is optional but useful.
While you are talking, everything said is held in full, as in any chat. This layer keeps a single conversation coherent and lives exactly as long as it does.
Nothing unusual here: every assistant works this way. The difference starts after.
Overnight what was said is compressed into significance. What is stored is not the wording but what the exchange was about and what it arrived at — so an old conversation is found by subject rather than by matching words.
This layer is what lets an assistant recall the right thing six months later without dragging the whole archive behind it. It is also why switching language does not break the thread: meaning is not tied to the words that carried it.
A copy settles into Arweave — distributed storage where payment is made once, at the moment of writing, and covers storage permanently. The record of that write is marked on Solana.
One simple consequence follows: our disappearance erases nothing. That is not a promise to last forever but an arrangement in which the promise is unnecessary.
